An image’s dimensions are its width and height in pixels, for example 1200 × 800. Its aspect ratio compares those two numbers. Locking the ratio means changing one dimension automatically calculates the other.
Drag the image edge or corner with your mouse or touch, use the horizontal slider for a quick proportional resize, or type an exact height and width. Resize changes the whole image to your chosen dimensions; unlock the ratio if you intentionally want different proportions. Crop fills a target box by removing parts of the edges. Fit reduces the outer dimensions to stay within the target box, while Pad keeps the exact box and adds a border.
How it works

Frequently asked questions
Can I change an image from 1200 × 800 to 800 × 800?
Yes. Choose 800 × 800, then select Crop to fill, Pad, or Resize with the ratio unlocked, depending on whether you want to remove edges, add borders or stretch.
How do I resize image height and width with the mouse?
After selecting an image, drag its blue right-edge or corner handle with your mouse, or move the horizontal slider. Width and height update immediately, and the aspect-ratio lock controls proportions. You can also enter exact pixels.
Can I increase image dimensions without cropping?
Yes. Choose Resize mode, move the slider right or enter larger dimensions, and leave the aspect ratio locked. This enlarges the image but does not restore missing detail.
What does lock aspect ratio mean?
The width-to-height proportion remains constant when you edit one of the two dimensions.
How do I change an image’s aspect ratio without stretching?
Choose a new ratio through your target width and height, then use Crop to fill or Pad to exact size.
